HUA, LCWSD Recognized at SCRWA Annual Conference

Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates (HUA) was recently recognized at the South Carolina Rural Water Association (SCRWA) 35th Annual Technical Conference and Exhibit Show in Myrtle Beach, SC. Lancaster County Water and Sewer District (LCWSD) won Water System of the Year award. HUA has provided engineering design services to LCWSD for over 20 years. Brad Bucy, the lead Engineer for the LCWSD, also won the Engineer of the Year award. Brad has been with HUA since 1997 and is the Division Manager for the Charlotte office. Tommy Carter, Water Superintendent for LCWSD, also won the Water Distribution Operator of the Year award. “All of our employees are to be commended for their efforts every day, that’s what allows us to be recognized as Water System of the year for SC”, said Mark Knight, Manager of LCWSD. “Brad and Tommy are to be commended on their individual awards as well”

SCRWA Awards of Excellence selections were based on nominations from water and wastewater system personnel. Nominations included narratives describing why a system or personnel should be recognized for the award and were submitted to SCRWA’s Awards Committee for selection.
