HUA completed the evaluation, engineering design, and construction management & inspection for upgrades to the 6.7 MGD Moore County wastewater pollution control plant. The upgrades to the plant included fine bubble aeration system retrofits for the primary and secondary aeration basins and a dechlorination system to reduce toxicity in the plant's effluent. The retrofit increased treatment efficiency while decreasing electrical power consumption and costs by 30%. HUA also evaluated the operation of the plant and the associated collection system as well as the County's maintenance program. HUA conducted a financial review to recommend needed maintenance and rate structure adjustments and recently performed a 201 Facilities Plan that included PER and preliminary design for an upgrade to 10-15 mgd.
